
The next cycle of International Cricket Council ( ICC ) competition will take place in three different subcontinental nations
Cricket World Cup : During the current ICC Annual Conference in Birmingham, the host countries for each major ICC Women’s event from 2024-2027 were confirmed.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that there would be four women’s tournaments over the course of four years, the first of which will be the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2024.
Once again, Bangladesh will play host to the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup. Ten clubs will compete in a total of 23 matches during the tournament’s September-October window.
In 2025, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will be held in India. India will be hosting their sixth ICC Women’s event overall, with four of those tournaments having been World Cups. There will be a total of 31 matches in the tournament, with 8 teams participating.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled for the month of June, will be held in England. This is the first time that England has hosted the competition. There will be 33 overall games, with the number of teams increasing from 10 to 12.
The event was accepted with the following statement from interim ECB CEO Claire Connor: “We are thrilled to be hosting the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026. I’ll never forget the day in 2017 when Heather Knight lifted the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup trophy in front of a sold-out Lord’s and the world watched in awe.”

If Sri Lanka makes it to the tournament, they will host the last event of the cycle. The first-ever Women’s ICC Champions Trophy will use a Twenty20 format. Six teams will compete in a total of 16 games for the trophy in February of 2026.
The CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, Ashley de Silva, was overjoyed when his country was awarded the hosting rights. Sri Lanka Cricket said, “We think, being awarded the honor of hosting ICC Women’s T20 Champions Trophy 2027,z is a fantastic chance for us to be a part of the global growth program created by the International Cricket Council to improve women’s cricket.”
It was via a competitive bidding procedure that the tournament hosts were chosen. Board sub-committee members Martin Snedden, Sourav Ganguly, and Ricky Skerritt oversaw the operation. After carefully considering each proposal, the ICC Board adopted the proposals they had submitted.
The ICC Board also sanctioned the men’s and women’s Future Tour Programmes for the years 2023-2027. Soon (within the next several days), we’ll be able to provide the timetable.
A timetable for choosing the new head of the ICC has been released.
In November of 2022, a new chairman of the ICC will be elected. Greg Barclay’s current job will have a two-year tenure beginning on December 1, 2022, and ending on November 30, 2024.
Besides Mahela Jayawardene of Sri Lanka and Roger Harper of Australia, Daniel Vettori and VVS Laxman have been selected to the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee as current player representatives.
